Privacy Statement

Privacy Policy Center for Information and Documentation Israel (CIDI)

CIDI considers your privacy important. We process personal data and other data carefully and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations to protect your privacy. Below you can find what you can expect from us and which rules we adhere to.

Applicability
This privacy statement is from Center for Information and Documentation Israel (CIDI), a foundation with full legal capacity, statutorily established in The Hague and with offices in The Hague, registered in the Trade Register of the Chamber of Commerce under number 41151087 (hereinafter: 'CIDI').

This statement applies to all processing of personal data, both online and offline. It concerns the processing of personal information provided by friends, donors and relations, as well as the data obtained from visits to and use of the CIDI websites and webshop.

Data Processing
We maintain a friends and donor administration, in which personal data of relations are also recorded. A relation is a person who is known to CIDI (for example a public figure or a participant in an event, a newsletter subscription or information request), but is not a donor. A friend is a person who donates an annual amount of at least €50 to CIDI. We record personal data of personnel in the personnel administration.

CIDI's work is mainly financed by donations from friends and donors. We collect personal data (name, address, place of residence, telephone number, e-mail address, gender and age) to inform friends and donors about our actions and events and for incidental marketing purposes, such as a request for a donation or contribution increase.

Personal data is collected via the website when someone signs up for one of our e-mail newsletters, when someone registers online or offline as a friend or registers for an event, or when someone places an order via our webshop.

Financial data and data relating to a transaction, donation, purchase or payment are collected to implement the agreement (donation, membership or purchase in the webshop). This data is not provided to third parties for commercial purposes.

Register for an Event
You can register for CIDI events in various ways (online and offline). If you register for a CIDI event, only your name, email address and possibly your payment, place of residence and/or telephone number will be registered. This information will only be shared with third parties involved in the event if this is deemed necessary for the event. If a project is subsidized, the subsidy provider may request a list of participants in the context of the project assessment. These third parties are also referred to our privacy statement.

Contact with friends, donors and relations

E-mail
When you have provided your e-mail address to CIDI as a subscriber to one of our newsletters or information networks, as a friend, donor or interested party, you will be informed by e-mail about our work, to ask for your support, to inform you of achieved results and for occasional requests for a contribution. If you wish to receive less or no e-mail, you can unsubscribe from these e-mails at any time via the unsubscribe option in every message you receive or by sending an e-mail to the administration (administratie@cidi.nl).

Mail
CIDI sends mail to inform friends and relations about the work of CIDI, to ask for support for actions, to inform you of achieved results and for occasional requests for a contribution. This mail is provided by an external mailing agency. If you indicate that you do not wish to receive mail from CIDI, we will process this in our administration and we will no longer contact you by mail.

Our paper newsletter
Israel Newsletter is the paper newsletter of CIDI. Friends of CIDI can receive the Israel Newsletter for free a few times a year. If you do not wish to receive this, you can make this known by contacting the CIDI administration.

Social media
CIDI manages an account on various social media channels. These are Facebook (CIDInieuws), Twitter, (@CIDI_nieuws) and Instagram (cidi_nieuws). CIDI does not create specific target groups by uploading e-mail addresses from its database to Facebook. If you want to know why you are shown a certain advertisement from CIDI on Facebook or Instagram, you can click on the advertisement. Facebook and Instagram provide insight into why you are seeing an advertisement. You can also manage your advertising preferences in detail via the Facebook and Instagram settings.

Your Rights

Change or delete data
You can request us to change or delete the data we collect about you via our administration. This can be done by telephone (070-3646862), by post or by e-mail (administratie@cidi.nl).

CIDI cannot delete some data, for example in the case of a financial relationship (friendship, donation) and the fiscal retention obligation of seven years.‍

Inzage & overdraagbaarheid
Inspection & portability
You can request access to the data we collect about you at any time. You can submit such a request to CIDI via cidi@cidi.nl. You can also request the administration to send this data in a technical format, such as a digital file (this is the right to data portability - the right to receive the personal data in a structured, common and machine-readable form).

You can also submit your request by letter, including your full name, address, telephone number and e-mail address, to the CIDI administration, Postbus 11646, 2502 AP Den Haag. Cookies
CIDI  uses cookies and similar techniques to make its websites and mailings more user-friendly. For example, your settings are saved by means of cookies. Read more about cookies in our  cookiepolicy.

When sending some e-mails, CIDI uses a system that provides insight into the way in which e-mails are opened (open and click behaviour). This data is used to optimise the content of our e-mails.‍

Security
CIDI has taken the appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss or any form of unlawful processing. In this way, we ensure that personal data are only accessible to employees who are authorised to do so by virtue of their position and that we only use the personal data for the purposes for which they were obtained and for compatible purposes.

CIDI uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), a protocol that ensures privacy for Internet communications and is designed to prevent eavesdropping, tampering, or forgery, to protect sensitive information online and to protect user information offline. When you are on a secure page such as our donation form, your browser should indicate that you are on a secure site.‍‍
